Equalityoga

June 27, 2009 marked the fortieth anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising which launched the LGBTQ rights movement. To commemorate this historic occasion, we produced an event that drew a diverse group of yogis to practice and ensure all people are safe, equal and protected by law regardless of their race, gender and sex orientation.

The first annual yoga event was open by Washington State Senator Ed Murray. Proceeds raised benefited Equal Rights Washington and Lambda Legal. The experience was led by Troy Lucero, Maygen McGrew and Matt Meko. Musical accompaniment provided by Steve Gold and Gina Sala.
